L’ufficio di rappresentanza a Bruxelles dell’Area Politiche Europee ed Internazionali della CGIL svolge un compito di collegamento tra le iniziative del nostro sindacato a livello nazionale e le istanze europee sia sindacali che istituzionali. L’Ufficio cura lo scambio continuo di informazioni con tutte le aree della CGIL nazionale, con le categorie e con i territori ed è a disposizione di tutte le strutture della CGIL (sede confederale, categorie, territori, servizi…) anche a supporto logistico per le loro relazioni con le realtà europee a Bruxelles.

L’Ufficio CGIL Europa si relaziona con la Confederazione europea dei sindacati CES, con le Istituzioni europee, a partire dalla Commissione Europea, dall’Europarlamento e dal Comitato economico e sociale europeo, e con le rappresentanze europee del nostro Paese (i gruppi parlamentari, la Rappresentanza permanente dell’Italia presso la UE, le singole rappresentanze regionali, le rappresentanze delle Camere di Commercio, le Organizzazioni di rappresentanza degli operatori economici e datoriali...) e con gli uffici di rappresentanza a Bruxelles delle altre organizzazioni sindacali europee.

Per rafforzare il proprio ruolo e rendere più incisive le proprie rivendicazioni, non si può prescindere dal livello europeo e internazionale. Non esiste infatti ormai ambito della realtà sociale ed economica italiana che non sia strettamente connesso, se non dipendente, dalle indicazioni delle istituzioni comunitarie. Puntiamo ad avere informazione e conoscenza diretta delle politiche e della legislazione europea e conseguentemente poter incidere, attraverso la pressione che, come sindacato, possiamo esercitare, influenzando le scelte che vengono fatte a livello istituzionale europeo a favore degli interessi dei lavoratori.

CGIL European Office in Brussels

The Brussels representation office of the CGIL European and International Policies Area acts as a link between our union's initiatives at national level and the European trade union and institutional instances. The office ensures a constant exchange of information with all areas of the national CGIL, with the sectoral federations and with the territories and is at the disposal of all CGIL structures (confederal headquarters, sectoral federations, territories, services, etc.), also providing logistical support for their relations with the European realities in Brussels.

The CGIL European Office liaises with the European Trade Union Confederation ETUC, the European Institutions, starting from the European Commission, the European Parliament and the European Economic and Social Committee, as well as with the European representations of our country (parliamentary groups, the Permanent Representation of Italy to the EU, the various regional representations, the representations of the Chambers of Commerce, organisations representing economic operators and employers, etc.) and with the Brussels representations of other European trade union organisations.

To strengthen its role and make its demands more effective, the European and international levels cannot be ignored. In fact, there is no area of the Italian social and economic reality that is not closely linked, if not dependent, on the indications of the Community institutions. Our aim is to have information and direct knowledge of European policies and legislation and consequently to influence, through the pressure we can exert as trade unions, the decisions taken at the European institutional level in favour of workers' interests.
