The European and International Affairs Department represents CGIL in Europe and at the global level. It advocates for CGIL's positions towards European and international institutions. CGIL works with unions throughout the world for social justice and considers Peace among people as the supreme good of mankind. CGIL i→s affiliated to the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) with the aim of defending and advancing workers’ rights and has representation in EUROFOUND, TUAC (OECD), EESC (European Economic and Social Committee), ILO, as well as a consultative status at UN-ECOSOC.
